On October 6th, 2013, the Carnival of the Dead arrived at the RNA Showgrounds and brought with them a collection of Ghouls, Freaks and the Undead Circus. Official Police reports recorded over 20,000 participants this year – on par with our record breaking 2011 numbers. Over $52,000 was raised for the Brain Foundation, doubling our target for this great charity.

This proves once and for all what our loyal BZW fans already know….That Brisbane is the biggest and most successful Zombie walk IN THE WORLD.

Since our inception in 2006, we’ve faced constant challenges, including venue changes and a complete overhaul of our internal committee members. We also took a huge risk last year with the change of the event format to include a music festival.  These hurdles had a huge impact on our event yet you all remained loyal and wholeheartedly gave your support. For that we thank you from the bottom of our rotting hearts.

These changes needed to happen so that our event could grow and continue on for years to come. These changes were implemented at this year’s event and the results speaks for itself.  Brisbane Zombie Walk 2013 ‘Carnival of the Dead’ is arguably the MOST SUCCESSFUL ZOMBIE WALK we’ve had to date, in terms of funds raised, attendance numbers, our corporate sponsorship drive and venue location.

This year’s event also saw the introduction of our best Male, Female and Children’s Costume Awards, with the lucky winners walking away with our amazing, hand crafted Brisbane Zombie Walk Trophies, thanks to Christopher Sun and Kayla Filth from Slaughter FX. The trophies were custom made and are exclusive only to the Brisbane Zombie Walk – a true collectors item. We all know how much time, money and effort goes into your costumes, so we wanted to say thank you and give you a memento equally as EPIC as your costumes.

The Brisbane Zombie Walk Committee would like to thank the following businesses and individuals for their ongoing support and sponsorship. Without them, the Brisbane Zombie Walk would cease to operate.  Please give them your full and ongoing support.
